Kane Haggett selected to swim for Great Britain Team in Belgium!
Derventio eXcel Club Captain Kane Haggett has been selected to swim for Great Britain in the Flanders Cup in Antwerp, Belgium in January 2013.
This will be 20 year old Kane's second International Selection after being selected to swim in USA in August 2012!
Well Done Captain Kane!!
Molly Renshaw selected for Great Britain Team at European Short Course Champs!!
Derventio eXcel swimmer Molly Renshaw has been selected for the Great Britain Senior Team to compete in the European Short Course Championships in Chartres, France in December 2012.
This will be 16 year old Molly's third time competing for the GB Senior Team after qualifying youngest for the World Championships in Shanghai in 2011 and for the European Short Course Championships in Poland 2011 where she finished 6th in the 200m Breaststroke.

Fraser George Manley
All at Derventio eXcel would like to give a huge warm welcome to Fraser George Manley who was born on Monday 8th October 2012 at 7.26pm weighing in at 7lb and 12oz.
Congratulations to Andi, Leanne and big brother Austyn on their new arrival.

Lewis White wins School Sports Awards!
Derventio eXcel swimmer Lewis White has won the South Derbyshire School's Disabled Sports person of the Year Award!
Lewis won the trophy and a cash award from the John Bainbridge Memorial Fund.
Lewis has also been nominated for the South Derbyshire Disabled sports person award, and will attend an awards evening in November!

Oliver Davidson wins Erewash Young Sports Person of the Year!
Derventio eXcel swimmer Oliver Davidson wins Erewash Young Sports Person of the Year Award! Oliver has won this award previously and was delighted to be recognised for his achievements yet again. Oli is an ASA England Talent Swimmer.

Abbie Wood wins High Peak Young Sports Person of the Year Award!
Derventio eXcel Swimmer Abbie Wood won the High Peak Young Sports person of the year award last friday evening.
Abbie has had an outstanding year with achievements such as being one of the youngest swimmers to compete at the 2012 Olympic Trials on 4 events. Representing England and becoming School Games Champion in the 200m Breaststroke, winning the National Championships for the 3rd year running on the 200m Breaststroke and being selected onto the ASA England Talent programme.

Krissy Tomlinson wins Runner Up in Erewash Young Sports Person of the Year Awards!
Derventio eXcel Swimmer Krissy Tomlinson won an award last thursday evening for runner-up in the Erewash Sports Award Young Sports person of the year!
Krissy has had a great two seasons so far at Derentio eXcel and has seen great improvement, winning countless County titles, and this season gaining more regional qualifying times than ever. At only just 12 years of age Krissy is looking forward to continuing this form this season.
