Finals session just ended, Zichen slightly slower than the heats in the 50m Back (28.24) and narrowly missed the final. Livvi moved from 16th to 12th in the 50m Fly (28.70) and had to race in a swim-off to determine the reserve finalists. She again improved on her time with a 28.67 and is now 2nd reserve for Tuesday's final - well done Livvi!
Its so important to be able to improve on your time whenever you get a second swim in a final (or semi-final). Swimmers who are able to do this are the ones who win medals, qualify for national teams or qualify from semi's to finals. This is true at every level of swimming even up to the Olympics.
The mens 4x100m Freestyle relay won a bronze medal behind the teams from Hatfield and Loughborough. Kane led off in a PB time of 53.9. Zichen (53.2) Connor (56.2) and Rob (55.9) were the other medal winning DX swimmers. Great job lads - British Championships National Medallists!
