Congratualtions to Emily Allsopp and Jodie Hawksworth who have been selected to compete at the Sainsbury's UK Schools Games held in Sunderland 2nd-5th September 2010.
The girls will swim for the England Central team and compete in a 4 day event: "Each of the ten sports is combined into a four-day Games environment designed to replicate the feel of major event such as the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games and Commonwealth Games."(http://www.ukschoolgames.co.uk/)
This will provide a great experience for the girls and prepare them to follow in the footsteps of former Derventio eXcel teammates, and those of Club Captain Chris Steeples who will be competing for Great Britain at the European Junior Championships in Helsinki, Finland in July.
Well Done Girls, keep up the hard work....its worth it!
