Scott retires from competitive swimming

Scott Tovell-Coleman has just announced his retirement from competitive swimming.

He has achieved many great successes in his time at Derventio from his first national appearance in 2007, to becoming Midland champion in the 1500m Frs and breaking numerous Derbyshire County Records. These include the current Short Course Records for the Junior 1500m Frs and Junior/Senior 800m Frs as well as the Senior 1500m Frs and Junior 800m Frs Long Course.

In 2010, Scott was part of the Derventio 4x200m Freestyle team that won a Bronze medal at the British Championships.

Scott will continue to have a major involvement in swimming - he assists with coaching at Long Eaton, teaches at local swimming lessons and will also remain part of the DX team - only now it will be on poolside as a coach rather than in the pool.

  1. Scott, you should be proud of your achievements.
Frame that Hat and those Jammers, every time you look at them think of the fantastic times you had as a swimmer in the Elite Derbyshire Squad. You've been an inspiration to the younger members of the squad, great to hear you will still remain as part of the DX team,
