Derventio eXcel and Great Britain Swimmers Molly Renshaw and Chris Steeples (pictured thanks goes for the artwork to Hannah Jones, Evie Keane, Jodie Hawksworth and Abbie Wood) have been selected onto the WORLD CLASS programme. The UK SPORT established programme is set up to help ensure that the UK's most talented athletes have every chance of realising their potential. Swimmers are selected on recent performances. The Development programme is defined by UK Sport as "comprising of athletes whose performances have suggested that they have realistic medal winning capabilities at future Olympic Games". The athletes on the programme receive support in their quest for excellence, this is in the form of funding, sport science, training camps and competitions as well as the Athlete personal Award.
