Derventio eXcel's Jodie Hawksworth is 7th fastest swimmer in Europe when she swam to 7th place in the 100m Breaststroke final.
Jodie posted a lifetime best of 1.10.94 lowering her personal best time that she set in the semi-finals.
This is a great end to a great week for Derventio swimmers and Great Britain.
Great Britain were 1st in the medals table beating off Italy in second and Germany in 3rd and have their highest medal count ever in this competition.
Molly and Jodie's performances in the team have shown that they can progress and make finals with personal best times and win medals which is great experience and swimming.
Molly Renshaw will now fly out to Japan for a holding camp before going to China for the World Swimming Championships in Shanghai for Great Britain her first senior team swim.
Jodie will be back in training next week with the Youth National Championships begining on the 26th July and the World Junior Championships in August.
Jodie will be joined by her DX teammates who continue their preparations for the age and youth nationals starting on the 21st and 26th July, the senior swimmers are going to the Irish Nationals on the 20th July and Harry Webster for Great Britain in the European Youth Olympics.
This is a very busy but exciting time for Derventio.....
