Coach Kim Hill says “Abbie’s swim was amazing, I am so proud of her she missed the record by .7 of a second in the heats and knew her chance was in the final. The focus of this block of training is to compete well at the British Open in March so to get this record is great!”.

Teammate and previous record holder Jodie Hawksworth says “I am so proud of Abbie, I have known her all her life and I am so pleased that if anyone was going to break my record it was Abbie. It was a great swim, and I have lost my voice from cheering so loud!”
