Renshaw wins GOLD and Wood hits another qualification mark in first Senior Final!

Molly Renshaw was tonight crowned British International Open Champion when she took victory in the 200m Breaststroke in a season's best time of 2.28.25.  This was the 16 year old European Junior Gold medalist's first Domestic Gold medal, although she has been at the top of the country's Breaststroke talent since 2011.  Molly fought hard and really enjoyed the race!  Well Done Molly!  Molly has also achieved the selection consideration time for the World Junior Championships which take place in the summer, and will wait to hear if she has been successful later in the year.

Abbie Wood at the youngest swimmer to make a Senior final in the competition moved up the rankings to finish 5th in her first Senior National Final!  Well Done Abbie!

Abbie had earlier in the evening competed in the Junior 400m I.M final and in an exciting race finished 3rd in a new personal best time hit the European Youth Olympics selection criteria for the second time in one day.  Tough racing Abbie!

Kane Haggett competed in the 50m Free final to complete a hat-trick of sub 23 second swims by dipping into the 22 second mark again finishing in 4th place as second Brit overall!  Well Done Kane!

Kevin Wallbank also competed in 2 finals tonight the 200m Butterfly was first where Kevin improved on his heats ranking to finish 6th.  In the 100m Breaststroke not long after the fly event Kevin again increased his ranking to 9th place.  Well Done Kevin!
