The DX medley relays had contrasting fortunes with the girls team of Emily, Jodie, Evie and Fran placing 11th and just missing the final whilst the boys team of Zichen, Chris, Tom and Matt qualified as the 3rd fastest for the final.
A tactical change for the finals saw an improvement of over 2.5 secs and a 4th place finish for Zichen (58.20), Chris (1:03.10), Matt (59.53) and Kane (53.27).
In the 50m Freestyle Kane improved his time from heats (24.07) to semi's (23.97) to final (23.95) and claimed a creditable 9th place amongst a class field.
Chris Steeples was determined not to make the same mistake in the 100m final as he had done in the 200m and so set about to ensure the race was all but over by the 50m mark. Another 50m PB of 29.61 gave him a lead of 0.5 secs which he went on to extend to touch home in an amazing time of 1:02.86 and his first National Gold medal.
In the very next race Jodie Hawksworth stormed to a season's best performance in the girls 14/15 years 100m Breaststroke final and in doing so won a well deserved bronze medal with 1:12.97 giving her a great platform to build on next season.
