Day Two

PB's in the heats from Tom Matthews (200m Fly 2:16.64) and Kane Haggett (100m Frs 53.79).

Matthew Smithurst smashed his PB by over 5 secs to qualify for the 200m IM semi-finals from Heat 2 out of 11, with a blistering time of 2:11.23

The girls 4x100m Freestyle team of Fran, Emily, Cat and Evie finished in 15th place.

Scott Tovell-Coleman was 13th in the 17/18 years 1500m Freestyle in a new best time of 16:34.25, despite still feeling below par after picking up an illness just days before the start of the championships.

In the finals sessions Zichen claimed 7th place in the 100m Backstroke final (58.65) whilst Matthew Smithurst set another PB in the 200m IM (2:11.07) to finish in 15th place at his first ever nationals.

Molly Renshaw and Jodie Hawksworth competed in the Semi-Finals of the 200m Breaststroke with Molly setting a new PB of 2:35.54 continuing her great form throughout the season in this event and Jodie improving on her heats time with a 2:40.09.

Chris Steeples won the first medal for DX at the meet with a Bronze medal in the 200m Breaststroke although he will be kicking himself after failing to convert his impressive heat and semi-final swims into a gold medal.
