England Talent Camps a success!

Pictured above is the England Talent Camp Level 3 which featured DX club captain and GB international Chris Steeples. This week long camp was followed by a Tri Meet in which England Talent took on the best of Canada's junior swimmers and a team from England North.

After a hard weeks training Steeps was able to step up and race against one of the fastest junior's in the world Richard Funk, in which he was just touched into second place and swam to his second fastest time ever in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke this was great swimming at this time in the season, and faster than his times at the European Junior Championships last July. Derventio eXcel Head Coach was selected onto the coaching staff for the Camp "the camp was hard work, but Steeps stepped up, he showed great mental toughness and focus".

Chris' will be competing in his Senior Great British debut in february in Duel in the Pool GB vs Germany.

15 of Derventio eXcel swimmers were selected onto England Talent Camps this year, of which the youth swimmers were also on a camp the same weekend in Norwich. Kim Hill DX Coach was also selected onto the coaching staff. " All DX swimmers on the camp trained hard and demonstrated their reasons for selection, they all worked hard throughout the weekend in and out of the pool".
