Olympic Trials DAY 1! Molly selected for GB Junior Team!

Great British selection on Day 1 for Molly Renshaw

1st Day 1st PB at 1st Olympic Trials for Abbie Wood
Today was the first day of the 2012 Olympic Trials.

Ben Goodall was up first for DX in only the second race to be swum at these trials.  Ben made a blistering start to the 400m I.M by posting a lifetime best for the 100m Fly in the first split of this tough race in 1.02!
Ben continued to fight well narrowly missing his personal best time and just tiring after the rapid start.  With his first race out of the way he is now looking forward to his 200m Fly on Monday.

Abbie Wood was up next in the 400m I.M and won her heat impressivley by 5 seconds in a new personal best time of 5.02.06!

Molly Renshaw was up next in the 400m I.M and has qualified for the Great British Team for the European Junior Championships in July 2012, which she swam to a time that gave her the fastest Junior time in the country!

The Girls are back in action tomorrow morning in the 100m Breaststroke with Abbie Wood, Sarah Vasey, Molly Renshaw and Jodie Hawksworth all in action.

The feedback from the swimmers is that the pool and venue and facilities are great and swimming is FAST!

Also in action today were many DX and DXDS swimmers at the County championships held at Matlock for the first time....This is another FAST pool as some great swims were posted by all swimmers!

The second day of this championships is also tomorrow.

Keep up the Great Work DX!!
