Following this she swam in the heats of the girls 200m Breaststroke heats and became the youngest swimmer to qualify for a senior final making her way through in 8th position to race against the older girls tonight. In doing so, and being the only Junior age girl in the final Abbie has hit the European Yoth Olympic selection policy criteria by being the fastest Junior girl! Well Done Abbie!
Also in the girls 200m Breaststroke and qualifying comfortably for tonights final was 16 year old Molly Renshaw, Molly has qualified in second for tonights final.
Imogen Clark in the first of her two events of the day swam to a personal best time and then 20 minutes later got back in and swam a solid 50m Fly. This has given Imogen confidence for the rest of her events this week.
Also competing in the 200m Breaststroke was Jodie Hawksworth. Jodie who has made a comeback in this event at the beginning of this season was outside her best in the heats, but will now look forward to the shorter distances.
Kevin Wallbank was also back in action this morning in the Boys 200m Fly and 100m Breaststroke. Kevin has qualified comfortably for both Junior Finals tonight!
James Latham swam in his second event of the Championships in the 100m Breaststroke but was just outside his best in the heats.
DX Captain Kane Haggett cruised through to the Senior 50m Freestyle final in his second ever time sub 23 seconds and qualified for the final alongside 2000 Olympic Champion Antony Evin (USA).
