Imogen Clark Breaks Olympic Champion's record! Whilst more DXDS swimmers gain first ever regional times!

Imogen Clark (DXDS and Rykneld) - has broken Rebecca Adlington's 11 year Freestyle record at the Eckington Open meet 2011 in a time of 30.46, and broke the meet record for the Breaststroke in a time of 37.17.

Another Big Shout out has to go to Fearn Middleton and Matt Cross both from DXDS and Ripley. They both joined DXDS just over 4 weeks ago and Fearn has achieved her first ever Midland qualifications and Matt has added another 3 times!

Since DXDS started in September 2010 the squad have now nearly quadrupled the amount of midland qualification times they had the year before, with many gaining their first midland qualifications ever including Rob Ainley (DXDS and Belper), Jamie Ingram (DX and Ripley), Louise Ratcliffe (DX and Ripley), Matt Cross (DXDS and Ripley), Fearn Middleton (DXDS and Ripley).

Also in the news is Krissy Tomlinson (DX and Ilkeston) for her achievments at the DX open meet where she won the BAGCAT award as she did a couple of weeks later at the COD meet.

All of squad has seen great progress in their training and the hard work is paying off on their techniques, training and consistency.

This squad has also seen many swimmers move into the full time DX squad and also Leah Hollingsworth has qualified and won a medal at her first ever midland championships and has qualified for her first National Qualification times! These swimmers follow in the footsteps of the majority of DX swimmers who started off in the Development squad and go onto swim and win at the National Championships, and even go onto swim for Great Britain like most recently Chris Steeples and Molly Renshaw who both started off swimming in the developement squad.

The collaboration between the home clubs and DX is undoubtedly allowing the swimmers to reach their full potential and is working 10-fold! and shows the seemless progression the swimmers can make in the performance set up.
