Molly swam in the final of the 200m Breaststroke tonight at the ASA Senior National Championships. She qualified with a new British and English Age Group record this morning.
In the final she swam personal best times at the 50m (34.39), 100m (1.11.48 her previous best being her 100m split from her 200m at the British Championships in March 2011 1.12.79) and smashed her own British and English Age Group records in a time of 2.27.67 to take the Silver medal 0.3 of a second behind the winner Stacey Tadd. Molly smashed the qualifying time for the World Championship team and at only just turned 15 in may she will be one of the youngest on the GB team.
Molly will be competing against the best Breaststrokers in history Amanda Beard from the USA and Leisel Jones from Australia and current World Record Holder Annamay Pierse from Canada.
This will be Molly's first Senior International Great Britain Team, Molly has also qualified for the European Junior Championships in July in Belgrade.
Well Done Molly all of DX are extremley proud and there was a 2.27.67 minute break in training tonight as the live results were being checked!
