Chris Steeples and Molly Renshaw have gained a place on the British Swimming Long List of athletes who have been identified as having the ability to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
They are both now part of a process that will culminate in the final nomination of the Olympic team to the British Olympic Association in June 2012.
In the meantime there will be activities, events and regular bulletins that they will receive as part of the process of selecting the British team for London 2012.
For those of you in the squad with Olympic aspirations for 2012, this in no way means you are ruled out for selection. Ultimately, the Olympic team will be selected from the Trials in March next year.
However, we are very proud at Derventio of Molly and Chris whose performances this season have highlighted their potential and ability to qualify for the Olympic Games.
We wish them and every DX swimmer good luck in their preparations for the Olympic Trials next year.
